Today our non profit highlight was The Cottage of Bartlesville. Donna Hogan, Cottage board member, gave the Kiwanis members an overview of the organization. Board member Grace Farmer presented Mrs. Hogan and Operations Director, Melissa Moseley, with a check for $500.
W.E. Prosper is an employment education program designed to equip youth with skills needed to apply for and secure employment and to successfully represent their employer in business or social settings. Our program focus is teens 13-17 years old. It is funded through United Way.
Since the pandemic is keeping our members from participating in a lot of the activities we normally participate in, we have decided to give a financial contribution to a different member supported non profit each month. So proud of our two Kiwanians Katie Ann Wilson and Kristen Morrison at Y&FS. A special thanks to Emergency Shelter Director, Christa Arrowsmith, for sharing with the club about the Shelter. (Yes, there are smiles under those masks!).
The club presented a $500 check to Martin Garber and Vanessa Shank Drummond from The Bartlesville Education Promise. #KidsNeedKiwanis
Thank you Bartlesville for coming out for the fireworks last night! We want to give a special thanks to two of our long time members Jim Swezey and Konrad Brandemuhl for prepping the park and making the show happen. We love our community and are excited for Freedom Fest’s new home in Sooner Park! We hope to see you next year, and plan on resuming our full Freedom Fest event. 🇺🇸🎉💥❤️🇺🇸🎊
